RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course
This entry-level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat.
The course focuses on:
low-speed close quarters handling;
man overboard recovery;
an introduction to driving at planing speed;
and collision regulation.
It is the most popular course within the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Powerboat Scheme as it introduces people to power-boating in close quarters but also at high speed. The certificate issued will be endorsed to show the type of boat in which the training took place.

Assumed Pre-Course Ability: Beginner. May be preceded by RYA Powerboat Level 1
Ability after the course: You will be able to safely drive and manoeuvre a powerboat up to 10 metres in daylight conditions.
Course completion makes you eligible to apply for the International Certificate of Competence, allowing you to drive a boat abroad.
Location & time: The course takes place over 2 days at AP’s Training Centre in the historic Royal Docks in Newham, East London from 09:00 - 17:00.
